Our research examines disruption across technical, institutional and human systems. The aim is not to predict every failure, but to understand the dependencies that determine whether failure remains local or becomes systemic.

Interdependent services rarely fail in isolation. We study how disruption propagates across energy, transport, communications and essential public systems, and how continuity can be maintained under partial failure.

Resilience is not only technical. We examine how people, organisations and institutions make decisions when information is incomplete, contradictory or delayed.
Urban Resilience
Cities concentrate infrastructure, dependence and human behaviour. Our urban work focuses on how dense environments absorb disruption and how recovery priorities interact.
Emerging Systems
New technologies create new dependencies. We assess systemic risks created by increasingly connected, automated and distributed systems.
Community Memory
Local knowledge is a form of resilience. We support work that records how neighbourhoods, public spaces and everyday infrastructure change over time.
