Atropos programmes turn research themes into longer-running bodies of work. Public programmes combine published research, field partnerships and practical tools.
Local Record
Local Record supports independent contributors documenting how neighbourhoods, infrastructure and public spaces change over time. Atropos provides hosted publishing, archival storage and offline-first tools intended to preserve local records during periods of poor connectivity or service disruption. Contributors retain their own voice and subject matter; the programme provides the platform, archive and basic continuity tools.
Continuity Fieldwork
A public research programme examining how organisations maintain essential records, communications and decision-making during partial service disruption. Work includes workshops, field exercises and open continuity guidance for small institutions and community organisations.
Urban Dependencies Observatory
A comparative research programme mapping visible dependencies between transport, energy, communications and public services in UK urban areas. The Observatory publishes short city notes, methodological briefings and cross-sector research summaries.
Field Resilience Programme
Testing continuity tools and deployable research infrastructure in environments where normal communications, power or access may be unreliable. Public work includes field exercises, equipment validation and practical guidance developed with infrastructure, civic and research partners.
